June Awareness Month (JAM)

Catch the wave, help spread the word!

TAFP 2010  MdDS Wave Logo   Sam at finish line!
The month of June is Mal de Debarquement Syndrome (MdDS) Awareness Month. The MdDS Balance Disorder Foundation is promoting awareness and fundraising events to bring information about MdDS to the forefront as we support research to learn the cause and produce a cure for this rare disorder.

  • June 28.  Rock Out for MdDS in Singer Island, Florida.  The 1st annual Rock Out for MdDS Charity Event will benefit the MdDS Foundation. Live music (cool jazz), silent auction, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, and delicious wines will set the stage for increased MdDS awareness.  Learn more here
  • June 8.  Art Rocks!  Galleries in Jupiter, Florida team up to provide an open house event on the second Wednesday of every month with a portion of proceeds given back to the community. The festivities in June with a raffle, refreshments and entertainment benefitted the MdDS Foundation.  Learn more and see photos here.
  • Wine and Gourmet Foods. For the entire month of June, Sandie Cebell will donate the profits from orders placed through her Homemade Gourmet Foods and Wine Shop at Home websites.  Please visit often and place orders to help support the activities of the MdDS Foundaton.
  • Hayley Wilkinson recorded a catchy song, "Rock the Boat", to promote June as MdDS Awareness Month. The song and video bring a new and upbeat musical perspective that encourages listeners to learn more about MdDS.

  • Terri Gibson created a public service announcement explaining Mal de Debarquement Syndrome and the Foundation. Go to www.firstgiving.com/mddsfoundation. It is also easy to make a donation while visiting the site. As always, you can find alternate ways to donate at the MdDS Foundation web site.

  • Faces of MdDS: Stories by people with MdDS provide insight into the personal challenges and journeys associated with this life-altering syndrome. These stories highlight the importance of June Awareness Month.
